On October 16, 2024, over 400 guests gathered at The Pepsi Forum in Montreal for a dazzling evening of celebration and philanthropy at A Brilliant Night’s 10th anniversary. The award-winning fundraiser brought together prominent VIPs, special donors, sponsors, and committee members, uniting in support of brain cancer research at The Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital (The Neuro) of McGill University. With ticket sales, sponsorships, and donations, the event raised an incredible $850,000, advancing one of the most pioneering brain cancer research programs in the world.

A Night of Inspiration and Star-Studded Performances

The evening was hosted by Canadian TV personality Anne-Marie Withenshaw, and guests were treated to a vibrant interactive performance by Gregory Charles, whose dynamic set captivated the audience and filled the room with joy and unity. An exquisite culinary experience featuring some of Montreal’s top caterers, such as Beatrice, Notkins, Burger Bar, Miss Prêt À Manger, Pheonix Catering, Leche Donuts, and Le Fournil, elevated the night into a true celebration of community, resilience, and hope.

Celebrating a Decade of Progress and Research Excellence

From a local initiative founded in memory of four individuals lost to glioblastoma, A Brilliant Night has grown into a national movement, raising millions for brain cancer research over the past decade. Thanks to the funds raised, Dr. Kevin Petrecca and his team at The Neuro have led one of the largest-ever brain cancer cell sequencing projects, with groundbreaking findings on glioblastoma now cited over 65,000 times—placing their research in the top 1% of scientific papers worldwide.

A Movement of Hope and Unity

This year’s milestone anniversary highlighted how much has been achieved over the past decade, driven by dedicated volunteers, donors, sponsors, and the families who sparked the movement. As guests reflected on ten years of hope, resilience, and progress, the evening stood as a testament to the power of community and collaboration in the fight against brain cancer.

A Brilliant Night continues to shine as a beacon of hope for brain cancer patients and their families, demonstrating that together, we can make an enduring impact.
